Three Things That Are Bothering Me....
1. Attacks on Teresa Heinz-Kerry for being "nutty"
Although I've always been skeptical of the concept of Womens' Studies, I have to say that watching Heinz-Kerry being excoriated by the Religious Right as being too "loud" makes a believer of me. Saying "shove it" to a sleazy reporter does not measure up to telling a senator to "go fuck himself." Furthermor, the issue is no-contest if the reporter is employed by the same publisher who tried to connect the Clintons to the Vincent Foster suicide.
Teresa Heinz-Kerry strikes me as a strong, capable, and outspoken woman. Good for her. I think it's OK that she can't bake cookies. I think it's good that she stands up for herself when a reporter stalks her. I half-wish she would slug Laura Bush, just once.
2. The Simple Life 2
Paris and Nicole travel around the country in a giant pink truck being clueless for kicks. In turn, the producers get a chance to taunt the traditional core of "American" values: hospitality, hard work, patience, and generosity. Beyond that, the blonde-dumbshells get the opportunity for juvenile pranks at the network's expense. All this from that flag-waving, bible-thumping, right-wing patriotism-awareness-support-group, the FOX network.
3. Rupert Murdoch Sued Himself
I've heard a rumor that FOX News sued FOX Entertainment over something. Rupert Murdoch deserves a strong talking-to for that one. If anoyone has any details on that one, email me and I'll get them posted.
